All truly beautiful things start with passion. Laal Motif began with passion for family, a passion for elegance and a passion for celebrating women. Our joy comes from creating the most exquisite jewellery for women to treasure. We have taken the love that exists within our family, built on the mother and child bonds and our diverse heritage to design jewellery that adorns women everywhere. We believe that our luxurious jewellery enables women to express their femininity and grace with effortless style.
An unexpected journey
Laal Motif blossomed from an extraordinary journey of two women; mother and daughter Reem and Leen, of Damascene descent but lived in the UK. These two women with their unique set of experiences in the world of jewellery, were inspired to craft timeless and striking pieces of jewellery that are as extraordinary as they are. With their unexpected journeys in life taking them from Sussex to Damascus and back again, Reem and Leen took inspiration from the Mediterranean architecture to create chic and sophisticated pieces of jewellery. Their pieces reflect their heritage, their commitment to the master craftspeople of the Levant and the beauty that they have seen around them.
Intertwining the past with the present
Reem - from when she was a very young woman, would design her own jewellery, wishing to one day create her own line of pieces that could represent her. She realised this life-long ambition when she combined her philanthropy with her love of jewellery to create a butterfly collection for the children’s charity ‘Healing Hands’; symbolising hope and faith in life’s challenges. This charity was to be a catalyst for what Laal Motif is today.Together with her eldest daughter, Reem took inspiration from her children’s initials (Leen, Anas, Alaa, Luna) and launched Laal Motif. The latter part of the name has been inspired by the prominent arabesque designs that use repeated patterns to decorate significant architecture found in the Levant region. The name brings together the two passions of Reem; her family and beauty in art.
